There is something energetic about being surrounded by a room full of men.
The main motivation for this blog is to inspire other women, so it’s quite ironic that one of the most fun (and kind of sexy) things on my bucket list involved mainly men.
Learning a game that’s widely popular just seemed so appealing so I thought to myself, why not try it?
In the past, trying male-centric games was kind of daunting. Figuring them out seemed hard or intimidating but once I hushed my self-conscious thoughts, learning poker became fun.
I’ve generally had more guy friends than girlfriends so being around them was nothing unusual, but demonstrating my pokers skills was foreign for sure!
Ladies, how often have you put on a mask around the opposite sex? There were too many times when I have until I met a certain someone I could be completely myself around.
So there I was, a bevy of men at every angle, placing bets, and all I felt was comfortable with myself. No playacting. No, batting my eyelashes, or dumbing down my skills when it came to playing cards.
That’s a new feeling I want to hold onto and practice daily — is to be myself and blissed out — in whatever situation I find myself in.
The moral of this story? Ladies, poker is really fun. Learn it!
