Women in general are taught to compare, fix, and be perfect, even when wearing a swimsuit.
We learn to be ashamed of our bodies, even though it does so many wonderful things for us.
Which is why I propose that you practice gratitude — for all the ways our bodies take us to places, help us walk, run, hike, and allow us to enjoy what’s around us.
Put on that bathing suit and splash around with your children at the water park. Laugh unconsciously. Make sand castles that get washed away by the sea. Dive in, touch the bottom, and come up again.
It’s those moments that count in your children’s memories.
I absolutely fell in love with Alice Sueffert’s post called, Put On Your Damn Swimsuit.
Read it. You’ll be just as inspired as I am to wear my swimsuit with confidence.
